Having Angie in my family’s corner has quite literally changed my life. Not only is she knowledgeable, insightful, and creative but also I can see how much she genuinely cares for her clients.

“Angie has been an instrumental person in our daughter’s journey of healing from early childhood trauma.  Her thoughtful, gentle approach really connected with our daughter and made her feel safe and able to trust the work Angie was doing with her.  We have seen such a change in our daughter’s ability to connect with and express her feelings in positive ways.  Her self-confidence has grown, as well as her ability to relate with others.  Our entire family has experienced the positive impact of Angie’s work through the healing of relationships and a deeper connection as a family.  We are so grateful for Angie and the work she has done with our daughter.”

WHAT IS SOMATIC MOVEMENT THERAPY?

“Soma” is the Greek word for ‘body.’ “Somatic movement” is gentle therapeutic movement that connects body and brain.

Somatic movement therapy at Body Redeemed Somatics
helps all ages…

RELEASE
body-held tension and trauma.

REPATTERN
developmental movement.

REWIRE
sensory processing.

REBUILD
dynamic relationships.

WHAT WE OFFER

Body Redeemed Somatics offers a body-focused approach to mental health. Why the body? Because every feeling starts in the body. If a feeling has a deep root to childhood or infancy, the brain will struggle to make sense of it and talk about it. Flip through the slide show below for the neuroscience.

All movement modalities are carefully crafted to connect body and brain, and sessions are tailored to and scaffolded for each client. Rather than boring “exercises,” this therapy offers gentle, life-giving movement that feels GOOD and even FUN while giving your nervous system the sound body-brain connection and emotional healing it craves.

The approach of Body Redeemed is rooted in the love of Jesus and aligns with a Biblical worldview. (This does not mean you need to practice the Christian faith, but for those who do or are interested in learning about it, we wanted you to know!)

WHAT WE DON’T OFFER

Body Redeemed does not offer yoga or group exercise. We do not teach mindfulness or meditation. It is important to know that this is not talk therapy/traditional counseling.

FOR KIDS

Body Redeemed is the only practice in Michigan offering somatic movement therapy for kids! Kids’ brains don’t fully develop until around age 25. This makes traditional talk therapy challenging. Kids NEED to move. Somatic movement at Body Redeemed feeds their brains, regulates their big emotions and strengthens their relationships with parents and caregivers.

Angie has a true gift! Through working with Angie, I discovered trauma that I was holding in my body and with her guidance I was able to release that trauma. She creates a space that is warm, loving, and safe. Her practice engages you in a comfortable and inviting way and her voice is truly so kind and soothing. I do not understand how the body-mind connection works, but it does. I highly recommend trusting Angie to work with you and help your body process what it is holding. Angie is a true professional and so knowledgeable and dedicated to her practice. It is well worth your time and investment.”
